Cherwell Asset Intelligence

Cherwell Asset Intelligence is an optional automated discovery and inventory classification tool used to remotely gather and consolidate information on corporate IT assets. Unlike other industry solutions, Cherwell Asset Intelligence requires no software agent to be present on the target asset. By using this approach it lowers the cost of implementation and costs in managing another piece of software (agent). Further, the agent-less application does not require software distribution which reduces and simplifies the deployment, puts no additional load on the asset (server or desktop) and creates no new security vulnerabilities. Cherwell Asset Intelligence is protocol agnostic, allowing the scanner to search for existing protocols to use to connect to the asset (WBEM, SNMP, WMI, etc).

Highly Scalable and network bandwidth friendly

To ensure scalability, and limit the amount of bandwidth Cherwell Asset Intelligence requires, the scanner may be centrally located or used in a distributed fashion. The modular design allows multiple instances of Cherwell Asset Intelligence to run concurrently in the network, consolidating the asset information back to the central database. This architecture minimizes the amount of network bandwidth required to manage large geographically dispersed installations. Cherwell Asset Intelligence automates IT inventory for desktops, servers, wireless devices, networking equipment, printers, faxes and other network manageable devices.
